Holiday turned Forever Stay
What was intended to be a much needed break in Cape Town and Mozambique with my family, quickly became the great return trip I never knew I needed. After the first week at home, I’d somehow found work and a place to stay, serendipitous enough for me!
I fell in love again with the wild oceans, the breath-taking mountains and the vibrant people. I’d forgotten how life out here can be; a great outdoors life that is FULL.
The lands, its produce and the hard working people that have dreams despite adversity. This whispered promise of a better future pulled me home and challenged me to shoot some roots into the fertile South African soil.
I have always been a traveller, pulled by a great curiosity around the globe. Addicted to the thought that a new destination could bring me not only new experiences, but also provide me with the missing pieces in this peripatetic lifestyle.
It is only upon coming home that I have realised how to be a traveller in my own country, watching this place change around me and being a part of the growth instead of apart from the growth. Home is sweeter than the taste of a thousand new dishes from a far away land.
